About Quiz 2

Quiz 2 will take place during the last 15 minutes of class on Thursday. The format and length will be similar to Quiz 1, but the topics will come from sections 2.3 and 2.4, and can include:

  • Describe the behavior of a solution to a differential equation as t approaches infinity.
  • Set up a mixing problem.
  • Set up a problem modeling radioactive decay.
  • Identify the direction field corresponding to a Newton’s Law of Cooling problem.
  • Solve one of the three preceding types of problems (you will not have to solve all three.)
  • Know the relationship k \tau = \ln 2 between an object’s decay rate and its halflife.
  • Population models won’t be on this quiz.
