I’m confused on how to work with the last problem on our quiz 6 study guide (posted on the homepage). How are we to find the roots of a complex number using that form? The only examples we did in class involved questions like “find the 5th root of -18″ and “find the 4th root of -16″. And the answers (roots) took the form of the number posted on the study guide. I’m not seeing anything in the book either. Are we supposed to complete the set of roots? For instance, would the answer include: 1 + root3i, -1 + root3i, -1 – root 3i, etc? thanks!

I was trying to work through calculating the cube roots of 1 + Root3 * i

I got my radius as 2, my original angle as pi/3, but then my new radius is the cubed root of 2, and my new angles are pi/9, 7pi/9, and 13pi/9.

Did I do something wrong or is it just an ugly problem?
